I'm delighted with the final video that showcases Rolf Harder’s work. It offers a fresh and dynamic presentation of his creations, incorporating motion to enhance creativity and breathe new life into his work.
Born in 1929, Rolf Harder is one of the pioneers of the international style of graphic design in Canada, Harder’s skills were multi-faceted from designing books, governmental publications to crafting to a corporate identity programs. Recognized nationally and internationally, Harder's work currently resides with the MoMA in New York City. The objective was to craft a motion graphic, inspired by elements designed by Rolf Harder. While embracing his style and infusing my creativity, looking transform his static designs into a captivating animation.
My approach was to use various posters that complement each other well, from colours to shapes. Using posters that mimic the same feeling was essential to creating seamless transitions. With the majority of Rolf harder work using squares, I decided to use that as the main elements for each of my transitions to create a seamless visual journey throughout the animation.
